I attended a Zoom call conducted by the Domestic Abuse and Violence International Alliance (DAVIA). Male and female participants from around the world were on the call. A chart was displayed of a 2023 survey that asked men, “Have you ever been falsely accused of abuse?” The findings show that the countries India, Australia, the United States, and Canada lead the way for false accusations.
My book, “Real Men Don’t Go Woke,” depicts a list of men who have stood up to all kinds of false claims. One of the men on my list is Johnny Depp, who defeated ex-wife Amber Heard in a defamation suit that claimed he was a domestic abuser.
“The jury found that all the statements from Heard were false; these statements did defame her ex-husband, and they were made with actual malice. Depp said, ‘Speaking the truth was something I owed my children and all those who remained steadfast in their support of me. The jury gave me my life back.’” (pp. 235-237)
More and more men are coming forward internationally. Here’s an article describing a false rape case in India, where the accuser now faces perjury charges:
Men who remain silent internalize their pain until anger turns to depression and depression turns to suicide. The suicide rates of men are skyrocketing. We must provide men with a safe space to be heard and to reject the toxicity of false accusations against them.
